Cycles can be considered an abuse as those who practice it take dosage that is higher than what is recommended. The timeframe when steroids are used is called “On-Cycle” while “Off-Cycle” pertains to the period when one does not take steroids. When a person is on-cycle, he often practices stacking, which is combining anabolic steroids and non-anabolic steroidal items when buffing up. One of the options includes taking steroids at a specific timeframe, stopping for a while then continuing usage and elevating dosage.
Another is called pyramiding where users gradually take higher dosage upon reaching the peak of a cycle and lowering intake when nearing the end of the cycle. Cycles usually take 6 to 12 weeks. Because there are many stacking options, steroid users usually experiment with different styles and then stick to the ones that work best for them.
It is not advisable to cycle steroids, as it can be very harmful to a person’s health. While many cyclers follow safety rules, it is generally unsafe as it is already deemed a form of abuse. The perceived results of cycling aren’t backed by scientific studies. Despite sticking to the safety rules, there are still a handful of known wrestlers and bodybuilders who died due to steroid abuse. Steroid abuse often leads to liver damage, kidney damage, high blood pressure, mood swings, hair loss, bareness, shrunken testicles, and even testicular cancer.
It can also lead to gynaecomastia, the enlargement of breast tissues among males. The reason this happens is because when the body detects a massive increase in blood pressure due to steroids, it automatically activates its defense by producing more estrogen. A high level of estrogen in males makes the nipples bigger and fats in the breast sag.
